About Us

professional roofing services

Twin City Roofing was established in 1927 by B.J. “Bud” Williams. The company was first located in Fargo-Moorhead. Later the company was moved to Wahpeton-Breckenridge. O.L. “Hoot” Harr began working for Williams in 1951. The company then established an operation in the Mandan-Bismarck area where the company headquarters are now located. In the late 1960’s a warehouse was built in Dickinson to better serve the customers in the western portion of the service area.

Marv Miller started with Twin City Roofing in 1979 as an estimator / project manager. Scott Harr began with the company in 1986. Scott worked in the field before transitioning into sales and management. Together they purchased Hoot Harr’s interest in the company.

Twin City Roofing works in the commercial and industrial markets. We install built-up (hot asphalt) roofing, membrane roofing and architectural sheet metal.

We are members of Carlisle’s Hall of Fame having installed in excess of 750 “Perfect 10” Carlisle roofs. Twin City Roofing is one of fewer than 50 contractors in the nation to achieve this distinction. We have also been awarded the Carlisle 'Perfect10n' award. This award is presented to the top 5% of Carlisle applicators based on roof performance for roofs under warranty.

Firestone Building Products has recognized Twin City Roofing as a 'Master Contractor' and also as a 'Partner in Quality.' The Master Contractor designation is awarded to only 250 contractors in the Firestone applicator system.

Both of these awards are a testament to the quality of work you can expect when you have Twin City Roofing on your project.

Our People Make the Difference

One thing we've learned being in business since 1927 is you don’t last long without good people. It’s our people in the field who’ve made Twin City Roofing the regional leader.

The sales staff, crew foremen and many of the crew members have been with Twin City Roofing anywhere from 12 to 35 years. When you call Twin City Roofing you can be assured you are getting some of the most experienced roofing people in the area.

In order to provide a safe work environment for our employees and to ensure Twin City Roofing customers of our commitment to safety we require pre-employment, annual and random drug testing for all employees.

Twin City Roofing does work for the North Dakota energy companies.  These companies have formed the Energy Coalition for Contractor Safety (ECCS) in conjunction with the North Dakota Safety Council.  The ECCS requires all employees to complete OSHA 10 hour safety training before they are allowed to work on any of their sites.  Twin City Roofing has participated as an ECCS contractor since 2003.
